Restrictions on Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Compliance

The European Union’s RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC effective 1st July 2006 defines that the scope of the restrictions shall apply to electrical and electronic equipment falling under categories 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 and 10 of the WEEE Directive 2002/96/EC. Therefore category 8 and 9 products are excluded under the scope of the RoHS Directive.

Fiberbyte products are classified as category 9 products (Monitoring and Control Instruments). Nevertheless, in the interest of the environment Fiberbyte has taken the initiative of working toward RoHS compliance for all present and future designed and manufactured products.

USB-inSync™ technology can synchronize up to 127 discrete devices to less than one nano-second of each other. All USB-inSync™ devices will be locked together and act as a single device would without requiring any additional equipment. The USB-inSync provides a dedicated system reference clock in the root hub. Each device requiring timing and synchronisation information is provided an on-board clock which is accurately phase locked to all other USB-inSync device clocks on the hub via USB software protocol.

USB-inSync™ is able to provide added functionality utilizing standard USB cables, ports and hubs because the technology is embedded in every Fiberbyte device. Additionally any device can be used as a timing reference to control external equipment.
